Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said he accepts FBI cooperation in the investigation into the alleged attack he suffered nine days ago, provided that the Americans investigate existing links with "terrorist cells" in Florida (United States).

In a statement last Saturday (11), the Lima Group, formed by Brazil and 11 other countries, called for an international investigation into the alleged drone attack during a public ceremony in Caracas, whose target would be Maduro.

"If the United States government ratifies the FBI's cooperation in investigating the links [of those allegedly responsible for the attack with the state of] Florida [in the United States] to the assassination plot and the terrorist attack, I will accept. I would agree to the FBI coming," stated the Venezuelan president.

According to Maduro, the state of Florida (in the United States) has "terrorist cells" coordinated with businessman Osman Delgado Tabosky, who allegedly was behind the drone explosions that occurred while he was speaking at a military ceremony on the 4th.

Five days ago, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza met with the United States Chargé d'Affaires in Caracas, James Story. After the meeting, the Foreign Ministry reported that Story "expressed his concern" and showed interest in cooperating with Venezuela.

In a search for those responsible for the alleged attack, the Maduro government issued arrest warrants for two opposition lawmakers and detained 19 other people.
