Brazil Agency - President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva released a statement on Sunday (6) lamenting the deaths and disappearances in the central region of the state of Texas, in the United States, as a result of heavy rains and floods.
"I am following with sadness the news about the floods that are occurring in the United States. Tragedies like this, which have already caused more than fifty deaths, in addition to leaving more than twenty children missing, move everyone, anywhere in the world," Lula stated in the note.
In addition to fatalities and missing persons, there are also homeless people. The president expressed his hope "that the authorities of Kerr County, the state of Texas, and the U.S. government will succeed in their rescue and relief efforts for those affected by this disaster."
