LONDON (Reuters) - A Ukrainian government official said on Thursday that Kyiv understood it could not recapture all of its occupied territory through the military force of Russian troops at this time and that its recovery would have to happen diplomatically over time.

The official, who asked not to be named, told reporters at a briefing two days after talks between U.S. and Ukrainian officials about ending the war with Russia that the Ukrainian government would not recognize Moscow's rights over Ukrainian territory.
