The Argentine Federal Court has requested authorization from the Senate to issue search warrants for three residences and the office of Senator Cristina Fernandez Kirchner, former President of the Republic (2007-1015).

She is being investigated as a member of a network that bribed businessmen to government officials and has been summoned to testify in court.

Federal judge Claudio Bonadio was the author of the request to the Senate.

The Argentine press reports that there was a complex network of bribe payments during Kirchner's administration, leading to a widespread corruption scheme in the country.

However, the proceedings are being conducted under seal.

As a senator, Kirchner has parliamentary immunity, but she was summoned by Bonadio to testify on the 13th.

Over the past two days, more than a dozen people, including businesspeople and former officials from the governments of Nestor Kirchner (2003-2007) and Cristina, have been arrested on charges of being part of a "conspiracy" involving several companies that benefited from the complex bribery scheme.
