Want to become a journalist? WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has revealed an easy way to do it.
In a post on Twitter, the founder of the portal WikiLeaksJulian Assange described the key elements to becoming a "Western journalist in 2017." The idea is very simple: blame Russia.
Your instructions cover three points:
First, "choose a global event to be reported on," which the Russian press "should also report on by definition."
Then he writes a story, claiming that "Russia is secretly behind the reported event," since the Russian press is also reporting on it.
After that, all you have to do is enjoy.
Assange's comments echo the recent article by Glenn GreenwaldIn The Intercept, the reporter reported on yet another "important story about Russia," which most American media outlets treated as fact despite a lack of evidence.
This refers to the alleged hacking of the electoral systems of 21 US states by Russian hackers on the eve of last year's presidential elections. The news was widely disseminated without verifying the evidence.
