Jerusalem Post: Putin's offer to Zelensky is total surrender or destruction of Ukraine.
Behind-the-scenes footage of the meeting between Naftali Bennett and Putin presents a dramatic scenario of war.
247 - O jornal The Jerusalem Post published this Tuesday (8) a report with the behind-the-scenes of Meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Vladimir Putin in Moscow.Last Saturday, on Shabbat, Russia offered a "final" version of its offer to Volodymyr Zelensky, stating that the Ukrainian president's choice is clear: "accept or reject."
The terms would be: 1) recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics; 2) a promise of non-joining NATO and neutrality; 3) reduction of the Ukrainian army to a symbolic force. “If he rejects the proposal,” the Israeli newspaper stated, “the result could be terrible: thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of Ukrainians will die, and there is a high probability that his country will completely lose its independence.”
If the Ukrainian president rejects the proposal, French President Emmanuel Macron's prediction that "the worst is yet to come" is likely to come true. "In that scenario, Putin will order his army to step on the gas and change the face of Ukraine," wrote journalist Ben Caspit.
The proposal was reportedly considered "difficult" but not "impossible," according to the Ukrainians, the newspaper reported.
In conclusion, the Israeli newspaper infers: “Putin is determined, and the growing complications since the invasion will not deter him. On the contrary, he cannot back down; the more difficult the war becomes and the higher the casualties, the more pressure he will face to show real achievements. The impression is that, despite predictions of a quick victory over the Ukrainian army having proven false, Putin is more determined than ever.”
