247 - At the socialist festival The World Transformed, held in Liverpool, England, this Sunday (25), the former leader of the British Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn spoke about the importance of solidarity with Brazilians at this time of historic elections.

In a video recorded for TV 247, Corbyn stressed the importance of not only defeating Jair Bolsonaro, whom he compared to former US President Donald Trump, but also of supporting Lula's election, for the good of Brazil and all of Latin America.

“October 2nd is election day in Brazil. We don't want political violence, let's have free and democratic elections and support Lula, who is campaigning to give hope to the youth, to protect the environment and to end the inequality and injustice that dominate Brazilian society. Next Sunday, vote for the PT, vote for Lula!”, says the British politician (watch below).

The event, titled “Lessons from Latin America: the left, resistance, and solidarity,” also featured Maria José Pizarro, Colombian senator for the historic Pact; Claudia Turbett Delof, the first Bolivian woman elected as a city councilor in the United Kingdom; investigative journalist John McEvoy; Pablo Navarrete, editor of Alborada, an independent producer of progressive content about Latin America in the UK; and Nathália Urban, journalist and presenter of the program Veias Abertas and co-presenter of Globalistas on the TV 247 YouTube channel, both discussing geopolitics.
