Japan warns that North Korea may test nuclear weapons after launching a ballistic missile.
Japan is cooperating closely with the US, gathering information and monitoring the situation.
Sputnik - North Korea may carry out further provocations, even conducting a nuclear test, said Hirokazu Matsuno, the Japanese government's chief executive, in connection with Pyongyang's ballistic missile launch on Sunday (25).
"There is a possibility that North Korea will carry out several other provocations, even a nuclear weapons test," Matsuno said.
He stressed that Japan is in close cooperation with the US, collecting information and monitoring the situation. On Monday morning (26), Yasukazu Hamada, Japan's Defense Minister, reported that the ballistic missile launched on Sunday by North Korea flew 650 km on an unusual trajectory, highlighting that the distance on the normal trajectory was 400 km.
On Sunday (25) North Korea carried out the launch of a ballistic missile for the first time since June 5 of this year. The flight altitude was 50 kilometers.
The missile fell outside Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone. Through diplomatic channels at its embassy in Beijing, the Japanese government issued a protest against North Korea.
