247 - Italian citizens and the Green Europe Party have filed a lawsuit demanding that the honorary citizenship title of Anguillara Veneta, granted to Jair Bolsonaro by Mayor Alessandra Buoso, linked to the far-right Northern League party, be revoked.

Three months ago, Bolsonaro participated in the G20 meeting in Italy as an outcast for being the only president who openly declared himself unvaccinated. The only place where he was received with pomp was in the city of Anguillara Veneta, where his great-grandfather, Vittorio Bolzonaro, was born. He left the region with his family for Brazil around 1878.

Report from the website "That's how it is."had access to the 23-page document that denounces Mayor Alessandra Buoso and eight council members who make up her government and asks that resolution no. 27, with which honorary citizenship was granted to Bolsonaro, be considered "illegitimate or null, since the identity and image of the municipality were damaged after being associated with the expression of values conflicting with the historical, traditional and cultural values of the municipality of Anguillara Veneta".

The municipality has held the title of "city of peace and human rights" since 1993. Bolsonaro's presence in the city was rejected by religious groups, the moderate wing of local politicians, unions, and other groups.

It also caused outrage that the mayor, Alessandra Buoso, requested the release of 9.000 euros (R$ 58) to receive "a foreign delegation." For a city of only 4.000 inhabitants and going through an economic crisis, the amount generated outrage among a segment of the population.
