Israel carries out 10 airstrikes against the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Air Force struck 10 targets in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave; "Attacks were conducted in response to rockets that were fired and various terrorist activities orchestrated by the Hamas terrorist organization over the weekend," said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Sputnik - The Israeli Air Force struck 10 targets in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Sunday.

"Moments ago, IAF fighter jets struck 10 sites in three military compounds belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip. Among the targets were two Hamas ammunition manufacturing and storage sites and a military compound," the IDF wrote on its Twitter page.

The IDF indicated that the bombings were carried out following several rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip.

"The attacks were conducted in response to rockets fired and various terrorist activities orchestrated by the Hamas terrorist organization over the weekend. These terrorist activities included planting a grenade, throwing explosives, attempting to cross the security fence, and starting fires in Israeli territory using kites and balloons," he added.

Earlier, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that Israeli artillery had struck a military installation in the Zeitoun district, south of the Palestinian city of Gaza.
