The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Israeli ambassador in response to the attack. "I spoke with the Israeli ambassador, Idit Rosenzweig-Abu. Destruction of civilian infrastructure in violation of international law. Compensation for damage and destruction is once again on the EU agenda. I reiterate my call for an immediate ceasefire. The BE stands with innocent victims," wrote the Minister for Cooperation and Development, Caroline Gennez, on her social media.
Israel is waging a genocidal war in the besieged Gaza Strip since October 7th of last year, following a surprise operation by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas against the occupying regime. The US has offered unrestricted military support to Israel during the aggression that has so far killed more than 26.000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured another 65.949 people.
