247 - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will remain in the West Bank after the end of an "anti-terrorism" operation. The argument is that this would prevent Palestinian forces from trying to retake their positions, said Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Wednesday (29).

"The objective of the operation is to destroy the terrorist infrastructure built in the Palestinian refugee camps, which is financed and armed by Iran. After the operation is completed, the IDF will remain in the camp to prevent the return of terror," Katz declared in a speech broadcast by the news portal. Ynet.

On January 21, the IDF announced the start of an operation in the Jenin region. Shortly after, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the launch of Operation Iron Wall, with the stated goal of strengthening security in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, the Al-Quds Brigades, stated that it is repelling Israeli attacks on multiple fronts in the West Bank.
