247 - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Majid Takht Ravanchi, declared that the suspension of uranium enrichment in the country is "absolutely non-negotiable." The statement was made in an interview with the Japanese agency Kyodo on Monday (11), and reported by the network. HispanTV

Ravanchi emphasized that Tehran is willing to accept certain technical restrictions on its peaceful nuclear program, but demands, in return, the lifting of economic sanctions imposed on the country.

According to the diplomat, “Iran may show flexibility regarding enrichment capabilities and restrictions, but under no circumstances will it accept its interruption (…) we must trust ourselves, not empty promises.” Ravanchi also accused the United States of maintaining a deceptive stance by displaying a “false appearance of dialogue,” stating that any negotiation will depend on a clear definition from Washington regarding whether or not to seek a mutually beneficial understanding.

Conditions for negotiations

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi had already indicated that there is no agreement on holding new negotiations with the US, although he acknowledges the exchange of messages. “Holding negotiations in the future will depend on the circumstances. Where necessary, we will fight; where necessary, we will negotiate. We will not relinquish any tool to safeguard national interests,” he said. Araqchi also stressed that, before the military escalation, Iran presented a solid and uncompromising position, which reinforced the legitimacy of its stance towards the Israeli regime and the United States.
