247 - In recent hours, allegations have circulated that Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, was assassinated. However, investigations by the Iranian agency Tasnim News Agency indicate that the information is false and entirely fabricated, linked to psychological operations by groups opposed to Iran.

The rumor spread after reports of a loud explosion in a residential area of the city of Bandar Abbas, in the south of the country. According to the government of Hormozgan province, the noise heard by residents originated from an explosion inside a house located in one of the city's neighborhoods, with no connection to military authorities or IRGC leaders.

Official reports indicate that the explosion occurred in an eight-story residential building located on Moallem Avenue. The impact destroyed two floors of the building and damaged several vehicles parked nearby, as well as a commercial store.

There were also reports of people injured as a result of the incident.
