Iran denounces that the US is not cutting off arms supplies to Israel despite promises to de-escalate the situation.
Iranian Foreign Minister says ceasefire would only be possible if the US demonstrated its willingness "in actions, not words."
TASS - The United States, despite its promises to avoid a new escalation of Israel's war against the Palestinian people, has in no way reduced its arms supplies to Israel, said Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
Commenting on a potential ground operation by the Israeli army in the southern Gaza Strip, he said: "The American administration talks about preventing the spread of war in the region, but at the same time has in no way reduced the supply of weapons and military equipment to the Israeli regime to kill Palestinians." He added that achieving a ceasefire would only be possible if the US demonstrated its desire for it "in actions, not words."
On Monday (12), the Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in Qatar. There he held talks with his local counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military had been ordered to prepare for the start of fighting in Rafah, on the Gaza-Egypt border. Two days later, he ordered the army to prepare a plan to evacuate civilians and eliminate the four remaining Hamas battalions in the city. On Monday (12), Israel carried out massive attacks in Rafah, killing more than 100 people and injuring more than 230.
