247 - Iran has demanded a UN resolution condemning the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani by the United States on January 3, 2020, HispanTV reported on Sunday (2).

The Government of the Islamic Republic sent this request to the UN General Assembly, recalling the prohibition, under international law, against countries engaging in actions detrimental to peace and security.

Soleimani, former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran, was shot dead in Baghdad, Iraq, by US air forces in an operation described by Tehran as terrorist.

Then-President of the United States, Donald Trump, boasted about this crime, claiming intellectual responsibility for the action.
