247 - The military confrontation between Israel and Iran, which began on June 13 with Israeli attacks on the Iranian nuclear program, has already resulted in more than 600 deaths and 4.746 injuries, according to Iranian Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour on Tuesday (24). Among the injured, 971 remain hospitalized, including 65 people under the age of 20. The youngest is a child of only 3 years old. The information is from Metropolis.

According to Kermanpour, the humanitarian impact of the attacks is alarming, with victims predominantly civilians. "All of these are civilians whom the most deceitful regime in the world claimed were victims at the start of its aggressive operations," he stated, referring to Israel. The Iranian Ministry of Health also confirmed the deaths of 13 children, the youngest being a two-month-old baby.

The conflict began with a surprise offensive by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) against strategic targets linked to Iran's nuclear program, as well as attacks targeting Iranian military leaders. Hours later, Tehran responded with missiles launched against Israeli positions, escalating tensions in the already unstable Middle East region.

Twelve days after the start of hostilities, US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between the two countries, in effect since early Tuesday morning. However, the truce was immediately called into question with reports of new attacks. The Israeli army stated that Iran launched two missiles against its territory a few hours after the truce announcement. The Iranian government denied any violation.

In response to the alleged Iranian actions, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz authorized the army to respond "forcefully" to any breach of the ceasefire. The Israeli Chief of Staff, General Eyal Zamir, also indicated that the bombings would resume if new threats were confirmed.
