Interfax: Ukraine may have attempted to assassinate Putin.
The disaster that killed 295 passengers and crew members of a Boeing 737 shot down in Ukrainian airspace by a missile may have another explanation; Russian government sources told the Interfax news agency that flight MH17 was following virtually the same route as the presidential plane of Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, which was returning from the BRICS summit; if the suspicion is confirmed, the world will be on the brink of a major conflict involving the world's second-largest nuclear power; for the Kremlin, the Russian presidential plane, which flew the same route less than an hour earlier, was the true target of the missile.
247 - The Russia Today website, a leading source of news about Russia without pro-Western bias, has just published a bombshell report: that the Ukrainian government may have attempted to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was returning from the BRICS summit and following virtually the same route as Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which was shot down by a missile in Ukrainian airspace, a tragedy that killed 295 people. If the suspicion is confirmed, the world will be on the brink of a major conflict involving the world's second-largest nuclear power.
The report includes a statement from a Russian aviation source who asked not to be identified. "I can say that the presidential plane and the Malaysia Airlines Boeing crossed the same point and the same corridor. This occurred near Warsaw at an altitude of 10.100 meters. The presidential plane was at the location at 16:21 PM (local time) and the Malaysia Airlines plane at 15:44 PM (local time)," the source stated. The source added that "the aircraft look alike, the dimensions are also very similar, and the color of the plane, from a sufficiently large distance, is also almost identical."

“I can say that Putin's plane and the Malaysian Boeing intersected at the same point and the same echelon. That was close to Warsaw on 330-m echelon at the height of 10,100 meters. The presidential jet was there at 16:21 Moscow time and the Malaysian aircraft - 15:44 Moscow time,” a source told the news agency on condition of anonymity.
"The contours of the aircrafts are similar, linear dimensions are also very similar, as for the coloring, at a quite remote distance they are almost identical", the source added.
Flight MH17 crashed in Ukraine on a flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpar, and was carrying 295 people.
The passenger plane was expected to enter Russian airspace at 5:20pm local time, but never did, a Russian aviation industry source was cited by Reuters.
“The plane crashed 60km away from the border, the plane had an emergency beacon,” ITAR-TASS cited its source.
