Today, we gather here in solemn commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, to remember history, honor fallen heroes, cherish peace, and create a bright future.
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the National People's Congress, the State Council, the National Commission of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the Central Military Commission, I would like to express the highest regard and respect for the veteran soldiers and comrades, patriotic figures, and officers throughout the country who fought in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, as well as the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation, both at home and abroad, who made important contributions to our victory. I would also like to express sincere gratitude to the foreign governments and international friends who supported and assisted the Chinese people in resisting aggression. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to the guests from all countries participating in today's commemoration.

The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression is a great and arduous war. Under the banner of the united national front against Japanese aggression initiated and established by the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people fought formidable enemies with iron will and forged a great wall with their own flesh and blood, achieving the first total victory in resistance against foreign aggression since modern times.
The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was an important component of the World Anti-Fascist War. The Chinese people made great contributions to saving human civilizations and defending world peace with enormous national sacrifices.
History reminds us that humanity shares the same joys and misfortunes. Only when all countries and nations treat each other as equals, coexist in harmony, and help one another can we safeguard common security, eradicate the root causes of war, and prevent the repetition of historical tragedies.
