Heroes are those who offer themselves to serve others, says Pope in tribute to doctors.
"Heroes are not those who have fame, money, and success," he emphasized.
Forum - In his homily this Sunday (5) – classified as Palm Sunday by the Catholic Church, at the beginning of the week leading up to Easter – Pope Francis paid tribute to the professionals who are on the front line in the fight against the coronavirus and said that the “true heroes” are “called to risk their lives”.
“Dear friends, look at the true heroes who are coming to light these days: they are not those who have fame, money and success, but those who offer themselves to serve others. Feel called to risk your lives. Do not be afraid to spend them for God and for others! You will gain… Because life is a gift that is received by giving. And because the greatest joy is saying yes to love, without ifs or buts… Saying yes to love, without ifs or buts, as Jesus did for us,” said the Pope.
