247 - An agreement has been reached between the Palestinian Resistance and Israel, which provides for the return of Palestinians to their homes in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday (27), said the spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Majed al-Ansari.

Al-Ansari said that the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has agreed to release three Israeli prisoners before Friday, January 31, 2025, according to the Al Mayadeen website.

This special exchange will take place after the Israeli regime violated clauses of the ceasefire agreement, blocking the path of Palestinians from southern areas who were heading to their homes in the northern Gaza Strip. The Israeli regime said it would continue to block the Palestinians' path until Israeli prisoner Arbel Yehud was released.

Yehud was being held by the al-Quds Brigades of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) after being captured on October 7, 2023. The Israeli regime pressed for Yehud's release on Saturday under the pretext of her civilian status; however, the Palestinian Resistance considered her a soldier serving in the Israeli occupation forces.

Now, mediators have facilitated an agreement that would allow the release of Yehud and two other unidentified prisoners before next Friday, in exchange for the release of a much larger number of Palestinian detainees and the return of citizens to the northern Gaza Strip on Monday.
