War in Gaza is 'the first genocide' broadcast live, says Maduro.
The Venezuelan president condemned what is happening in the Gaza Strip and noted that the power of the US and the Western world in general is diminishing.
Sputnik - The whole world is reacting to Israel's genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, especially after an American soldier set himself on fire in protest in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington, USA, said the president of Venezuela in an interview on Saturday (2).
"What happened to that soldier, that young US Air Force soldier, shook American society and the world. They censored him on social media, but they couldn't, and it reached the whole world. And then there were protests in cities across the United States, where soldiers and ex-military personnel burned their uniforms," according to Nicolás Maduro.
This provoked "a reaction from the conscience, from the morality of the world in the face of a genocide broadcast live, in real time, on social media," explained the Venezuelan president.
"[It is] the first genocide, the first war of extermination in the 21st century against a people, the Palestinian people, broadcast live. This will generate a complete change in the world's consciousness, I have no doubt," he reiterated.
Maduro added that the global power of the US is diminishing.
"I believe that [we are witnessing] the exhaustion, the definitive decline of the US and the Western imperial system of domination. We are witnessing a moment in history, a before and an after. There is a total moral decline, and a questioning of the imperialist and hegemonic ideology," he assessed.
