Explosions injure seven in attack against Maduro in Caracas

247 with international agencies - The Venezuelan government denounced an attack this Saturday (4) against President Nicolás Maduro, who had to leave a televised event with military personnel in downtown Caracas to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the creation of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB). Maduro was giving a speech when a loud explosion was heard.
During the event, broadcast nationwide, Maduro was defending the latest economic measures taken by his government when an explosion occurred. He and other government leaders were immediately evacuated from the scene, and panic ensued.
Venezuelan Communications Minister Jorge Rodríguez reported that the attack was carried out by drones carrying explosives. Seven people were injured.
