Paul Manafort, former campaign manager for US President Donald Trump, and a former associate were indicted by a US federal grand jury on 12 charges, including conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to commit money laundering and violating banking laws, perjury, and lobbying.

Reuters Paul Manafort, former campaign manager for U.S. President Donald Trump, and a former associate were indicted by a U.S. federal grand jury on 12 charges, including conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and violation of banking and lobbying laws, the Federal Special Counsel said Monday.

"The indictment contains 12 charges: conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to commit money laundering, acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign authority, false and misleading testimony, perjury, and seven counts of failing to file reports on foreign banks and financial accounts," the council said in a statement.
