The United States is considering creating a coronavirus immunity certificate.

"The proposal depends on the widespread implementation of antibody tests that the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration are validating in the U.S.," said the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci.

247 - The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, revealed that the United States government is considering issuing immunity certificates against the coronavirus.

Currently the epicenter of the pandemic, with the death toll in New York State being higher than in any other country in the world, the Donald Trump administration wants to identify those who have been infected.

In fact, the Trump administration is seeking to follow the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO), which states that the solution is to test and isolate suspected cases.

“This is something that is being discussed. I think it may have some merit, under certain circumstances. The proposal depends on the widespread deployment of antibody tests that the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration are validating in the U.S.,” Fauci said.

According to him, in a week "we will have a fairly large number of tests available" to the public. With this, the Trump administration hopes to create the conditions to resume the country's economic activities.

"While we wait, as we get to the point of at least considering opening the country, it's very important to appreciate and understand how deeply this virus has permeated society," Fauci said.

Immunity certificates are already being implemented by researchers in Germany and have been launched in the United Kingdom and Italy, the most recent epicenter of the global outbreak in Europe.
