Survey reveals that young Americans dream of socialism.

A survey by the organization YouGov showed that the majority of Americans from Generation Y, also called the millennial generation, that is, young people between 15 and 30 years of age, would prefer to live under socialism rather than capitalism; it is worth noting, however, that 66% could not give a correct definition of socialism, while 30% confuse communism with fascism.

247 - Most Americans from Generation Y, also called Millennials—that is, young people between 15 and 30 years of age—would prefer to live under socialism rather than capitalism, revealed a recent survey by the organization YouGov.

The survey was conducted at the request of the non-governmental organization Victims of Communism Memory Foundation, founded by former US Secretary of State Zbigniew Brzezinski.

According to the results, 44% of young Americans expressed support for socialism, while capitalism was supported by 42%. Furthermore, 7% preferred communism and fascism.

It is worth noting, however, that 66% were unable to give a correct definition of socialism, while 30% confuse communism with fascism.

Furthermore, half of young Americans believe that the American economy "works against them," while two-thirds highlight the injustice that exists in the tax system.

However, the older generation expressed a more traditional view, with 59% supporting a market economy compared to 34% who said they favored socialism.

The foundation's executive director, Marion Smith, described the results as very worrying.

"This shows the historical ignorance so characteristic of American society when it comes to socialism and the systemic failure of our educational system," he stated.
