US Elections: Biden and Trump secure enough votes and clinch candidacies.

Tuesday's primaries (12) saw both pre-candidates reach the minimum number of delegates for nominations from the Democratic and Republican parties.

247 - Former US President Donald Trump has secured the 1.215 delegates needed to be the Republican Party's presidential nominee this year.

The current president, Joe Biden, won the Democratic presidential primary in Georgia, securing him enough delegates to be nominated by the party as its presidential candidate. Biden needed at least 1.968 delegates to secure the nomination and had 1.867 delegates before Tuesday's primaries.

This makes a rematch between the businessman and Joe Biden virtually certain in the November 5th election.
