247 - The president of Venezuela's National Constituent Assembly, Diosdado Cabello, confirms that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
He published the information on social media this Thursday (9), after undergoing laboratory tests, reports the RT.
"From now on I am in isolation, following the prescribed treatment," said Cabello, who thanked the Venezuelan people "for their well wishes."
Last Wednesday, the Chavista leader suspended the broadcast of his television program "Con el Mazo Dando" because he was experiencing what he considered "a severe allergic reaction," with irritation and swelling in his eyes.
After news of the infection broke, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro sent him his full support. "We are with you, Diosdado. I am certain that, with your moral and spiritual strength and the protection of our saint José Gregorio Hernández, you will get through these days of treatment and recovery," he stated.
