'I wish you success in fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the Brazilian people,' says Dalai Lama to Lula.

The Tibetan spiritual leader also highlighted Lula's commitment to fighting hunger and the Brazilian president's efforts in addressing climate change.

247 - The spiritual leader of Buddhism, Dalai Lama, congratulated President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who took office on Sunday (1), and said he “appreciates the commitment to eliminating hunger, reducing the gap between rich and poor” made by the PT member, in addition to praising the “efforts related to climate change, particularly in terms of protecting the Amazon rainforest”.
