German defense team fears leaked conversation between military officials is just the tip of the iceberg.

According to German media, the country's military often uses the insecure WebEx platform to communicate with each other.

Sputnik - The German Defense Ministry is concerned that recordings of confidential conversations between its military personnel about Russia and Ukraine could be part of a wider leak, writes the German magazine Der Spiegel on Friday (1st).

The conversation took place on the WebEx platform, which is "relatively easy" to listen to. Sources indicate that one of the participants used a mobile phone, as they were in Singapore at the time. Both the German Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence frequently conduct online conversations on the WebEx platform, according to the magazine's sources.

The article indicates that the leak may involve the Air Force and other branches of the country's military.

The German agency T-online reported this Saturday (2), citing the German Ministry of Defense, that German counterintelligence was investigating the possible interception of the conversation. The ministry confirmed the authenticity of the recording on the same day.

On Friday (1st) Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya group, of which Sputnik is a part, published the text of a conversation between four German Armed Forces officers about a possible attack on the Crimean Bridge, in Russia, with Taurus missiles.

The conversation, which took place on February 19, involved Ingo Gerhartz, inspector of the German Air Force, Brigadier General Frank Grafe, head of operations and exercises at the Air Force Command in Berlin, and two other military personnel from the air operations center of the German Armed Forces Space Command.
