Cuba rejects US draft resolution at the UN on Venezuela.
"The United States government's draft resolution before the UN Security Council attempts to 'legalize' military aggression against Venezuela, as the first step of 'humanitarian intervention'," Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez said on Monday (11) in a series of messages via Twitter.
247, with HispanTV - "The United States government's draft resolution before the UN Security Council attempts to 'legalize' military aggression against Venezuela, as the first step of 'humanitarian intervention'," Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez said on Monday (11) in a series of messages via Twitter.
The Cuban foreign minister denounced the draft resolution proposed by the US to the UN Security Council, which calls on the Venezuelan government, led by Nicolás Maduro, to facilitate the entry of alleged "humanitarian aid" and promise to hold new presidential elections.
According to the Cuban Foreign Minister, this is a maneuver whose sole objective is to reinforce the ongoing coup against Maduro, which began last month when the president of the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó, proclaimed himself "interim president of the country" and was recognized by the US and its allies in America and Europe.
The US resolution proposal in the UN Security Council "supports the imperialist coup based on assumptions: 'humanitarian situation', 'attempts to block humanitarian aid', 'millions of migrants and refugees', 'excessive use of force against peaceful protesters' and 'urges the adoption of necessary measures'," said Rodríguez.
