Ansa - Former Argentine President Cristina Kirchner was indicted today (2nd) for illicit association and fraudulent administration, aggravated by having favored, in public tenders during her administration, the company of the construction company Lázaro Báez. The judge also ordered a seizure of 10 million pesos. The information is from the Ansa Agency.

In addition to the former president, according to Judge Julian Ercolini, Báez himself, owner of Austral Construcciones, former Planning Minister Julio De Vido, and former Secretary of Public Works José Lopez will also have to answer to the legal proceedings. The latter became world-famous for being arrested last June while trying to hide US$8 million in a convent in Buenos Aires.

Kirchner has always denied the accusations, which point to the payment of bribes through the rental of unused hotel rooms. "For someone to think that, in a multi-million dollar public works plan, a corruption scheme could be carried out with one, two, or three properties with absolutely negligible values, please... that would be a unique case of corruption," she ironically stated in an interview in July of this year.
