247 - The United States Congress approved on Thursday (10) the bill that includes $13 billion in emergency aid for Ukraine.

Half of these funds are earmarked for military aid, the other half for various civilian purposes.

These funds include $6,5 billion for the Pentagon to cover the costs of sending American troops to allies in Eastern Europe, providing support, and replenishing weapons that the United States has already sent to the Ukrainian government, reports O Globo.

Jen Psaki, White House press secretary, said on Twitter that President Biden welcomed the decisions of American and other companies to leave Russia because they did not want to be part of a "war of choice against Ukraine."

President Biden is also calling for the United States to join the G7 and the European Union in suspending normal trade relations with Russia.
