LONDON, Aug 14 (Reuters) A cameraman for British broadcaster Sky News was shot and killed in Cairo during Wednesday's violence in Egypt, Sky News reported.

Cameraman Mick Deane, 61, had worked for the BSkyB-owned news channel for 15 years, first in Washington and then in Jerusalem. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

"The loss of a much-loved colleague will be deeply felt throughout Sky News. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family," said John Ryley, head of Sky News, in a statement.
