China will impose tariffs of US$34 billion on US products.
China reacts strongly to the reckless trade war waged by Donald Trump's isolationist government and announces tariffs on US products.
247, with Sputnik and Resistance - On July 6, China will impose tariffs of US$34 billion (R$132 billion) on imported goods from the US, Reuters reported, citing its sources in Beijing.
"Our measures are the same, which means that if the US starts [imposing tariffs] on July 6, we will start on July 6," the source told Reuters, requesting anonymity, adding that "the implementation of the measures will begin at midnight."
Beijing's move follows US President Donald Trump's decision on July 6 to introduce $34 billion (R$132 billion) in tariffs on products from China.
Although Beijing's move is a retaliatory action, China will announce the measures sooner due to the 12-hour time difference between China and the US.
Washington announced on June 15th its decision to introduce additional 25% tariffs on 818 Chinese products totaling US$34 billion (R$132 billion). In response, Beijing stated it would take retaliatory measures against agricultural products and automobiles imported from the US.
