China and Russia renew commitment to strengthen relations.

The presidents of China, Xi Jinping, and Russia, Vladimir Putin, endorsed on Friday (26) the commitment to the constant strengthening of relations between the two countries, after highlighting the high level of mutual trust and bilateral cooperation; the Russian president is in Beijing as a participant in the second Forum of the Belt and Road Initiative, Path to International Cooperation.

Latin Press - The presidents of China, Xi Jinping, and Russia, Vladimir Putin, endorsed on Friday (26) the commitment to constantly strengthening relations between the two countries, after highlighting the high level of mutual trust and bilateral cooperation. The Russian president is in Beijing as a participant in the second Forum of the Belt and Road Initiative, Path to International Cooperation.

During official talks, the Chinese head of state said he wants to work together to expand trade, economic, energy, scientific and technological exchanges, and aerospace cooperation.

Xi also emphasized that Russia is an important partner in building the Belt and Road Initiative, and advocated that both countries strengthen greater coordination in the international arena, while upholding the validity of multilateralism.

For his part, Putin highlighted global support for the Chinese project and said that it constitutes an important platform for expanding cooperation between different regions of the world.

Russia, he added, wants greater exchanges with China and to implement connectivity plans.

During the talks, the two leaders discussed the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in Venezuela and decided to maintain close communication on these issues.
