China criticizes US ship for illegally entering South China Sea waters.

China International Radio The spokesman for the Southern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China, Colonel Tian Junli, criticized on Monday (10) the illegal entry of a United States military vessel into the waters of the South China Sea.
According to Tian, the guided-missile destroyer USS Milius, without permission from the Chinese government, illegally entered the waters near the Meiji Reef of Nansha Qundao. The PLA Southern Theater Command mobilized naval and air forces to escort the US ship throughout its course.
Colonel Tian Junli stressed that China possesses indisputable sovereignty over the islands in the South China Sea and their adjacent waters, adding that troops of the Southern Theater Command are always on high alert to resolutely defend the country's sovereignty and security and the peace and stability of the South China Sea region.
