Sputnik Agency The leaders of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics previously announced the evacuation of children, women, and the elderly to Russia in the face of an imminent offensive by the Ukrainian army.

In Donetsk, there are warnings that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will soon order his generals to invade Donetsk and Lugansk.

Official representatives of the people's republics denounce that the Ukrainian army is bombing Donbass with heavy weapons, deliberately violating the 2020 agreements.

The use of heavy artillery, they added, points to preparations for a military solution to the internal conflict that has lasted since 2014.

The situation in Donbass is aggravated by the use of weapons that the United States and other NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) countries have sent to the Zelensky government.

Since April 2014, Ukraine has been conducting a military operation against Donbass, where the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics have been proclaimed.

The Minsk Agreements, signed in September 2014 and February 2015 with the mediation of Germany, France, and Russia, laid the groundwork for a political solution to the conflict, but have not yet resulted in a cessation of hostilities that have so far left more than 14.000 dead, according to UN estimates.
