247 - The Brazilian Center for Solidarity with Peoples and Struggle for Peace (Cebrapaz) released a manifesto on Sunday (22) in which it strongly condemns the United States' attack on Iran and denounces the complicity of the US government with the "terrorist state of Israel". The text expresses concern about the worsening situation in the Middle East and warns of the consequences of the military escalation led by Washington.

According to Cebrapaz, the attack against Iran represents "an act of extreme gravity that constitutes an unacceptable violation of Iranian national sovereignty, a direct affront to International Law and yet another chapter in the policy of systematic aggression promoted by US imperialism in the Middle East, including the genocide of the Palestinian people."

The organization states that the US military offensive was carried out "without the involvement of multilateral bodies and without any legal basis," revealing, according to the manifesto, "the dangerous complicity of the US with the terrorist state of Israel, which for decades has promoted massacres against the Palestinian people, fosters regional instability, and fully violates the UN Charter."

The justification given by the US government under President Donald Trump, that the attack aims to contain the Iranian nuclear program, is rejected by Cebrapaz, which considers this argument part of a strategy to maintain interventionist policies in the Middle East. "The US military escalation, under the pretext of destroying the Iranian nuclear program, is nothing more than a continuation of the interventionist policy that destroys nations, fuels conflicts, and undermines international efforts for peace," the text emphasizes.

The manifesto also reminds that Iran is a sovereign country, a member of BRICS, and plays a relevant role in regional and global geopolitics. According to Cebrapaz, the Iranian people “have the inalienable right to live in peace, without being threatened or attacked by foreign powers.” The organization criticizes the “logic of militarism, hegemony, and imperialist violence,” which, according to the document, jeopardizes not only the Middle East but also global stability.

Given the current scenario, Cebrapaz calls for a broad international mobilization in defense of the sovereignty of peoples and multilateralism. "We call upon all forces for peace, social movements, democratic and progressive parties, intellectuals, and peoples of the entire world to unite in a broad international mobilization against the attacks by the US and Israel, in defense of the sovereignty of peoples, multilateralism, respect for the Charter of the United Nations, and the construction of a new international order based on justice, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence among nations," the document concludes.

The manifesto concludes with a message of hope and resistance: "People do not need war, but peace!"

The condemnation of Cebrapaz adds to the demonstrations by various countries and social organizations that, in recent hours, have been denouncing the escalation of violence in the Middle East and demanding respect for international law, national sovereignty, and diplomatic efforts for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
