White House highlights Lula-Trump meeting and prospect of "good relations"

The Trump administration released a photo of the two presidents smiling after their meeting in Malaysia.

247 - President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and US President Donald Trump had a constructive discussion on the trade and economic agenda between the two countries during a bilateral meeting in Malaysia on Sunday (26).

Authorities from both countries will begin negotiations this Sunday aimed at removing the trade tariffs imposed by the US on Brazil, according to Reuters. 

On social media, the meeting gained prominence, with a post on the White House's X page, accompanied by a statement from Trump about the prospect of improved relations. 

By @WhiteHouse, no X - President Trump meets with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the ASEAN summit. "It's a great honor to be with the President of Brazil... I think we'll be able to close good deals for both countries... We've always had a good relationship—I think it will continue that way."
