Nine people died and several others were injured yesterday (17) in a shootout between bikers from rival groups, in Waco, in the American state of Texas, according to local media. Shortly after 12 pm (local time), police were at the Twin Peaks restaurant, where the fight between the bikers took place.

The city police reported via Facebook that the nine dead were bikers from rival gangs and that no officers were injured in the incident. However, they did not detail the events that led to the shooting. The Twin Peaks restaurant and the neighboring Don Carlos, where the gang fight occurred, are still cordoned off, and police are asking civilians to avoid the area.

The American press heard from local police who reported that one member of the groups had started the argument with a motorcyclist from the other group. They reportedly went to the parking lot and began physically assaulting each other with baseball bats, razors, and later firearms.
