Sputnik - President Lula travels to China this Tuesday (11), for a bilateral agenda in the Asian giant in order to align cooperation and projects with Brazil's largest trading partner since 2009. Accompanied by about 40 authorities, including ministers, parliamentarians and governors, Lula will invite Xi to visit the Latin American giant.

"I will invite Xi Jinping to come to Brazil for a bilateral meeting. To get to know Brazil, to show him the projects we have that are of interest to Chinese investment," he stated.

>>> China hopes for greater cooperation with Brazil and the formation of a "peace club" to end the war in Ukraine.

According to Lula during the interview, the expectation is to ensure that China does not contribute to the deindustrialization of the country; on the contrary, for the president, the most important thing is to build partnerships for infrastructure development, such as investment in new highways, railways, hydroelectric plants, "anything that means something new for Brazil," he emphasized.

During the visit, at least 20 bilateral agreements are expected to be signed, including the construction of CBERS-6, the sixth in a line of satellites built in partnership between Brazil and China, which allows for the monitoring of biomes such as the Amazon Rainforest. In the economic area, a deepening of non-dollarized trade relations, conducted directly in reais and yuan, is expected.

"China is an essential partner for Brazil and Latin America today. We want to strengthen this relationship, which had become weak," Lula declared.

The three-day program includes participation in the inauguration ceremony of former President Dilma Rousseff (PT) at the headquarters of the New Development Bank (NDB) of BRICS (a group composed of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), meetings with business leaders, with President Xi Jinping, and meetings with the President of the National People's Congress, Zhao Leji, union leaders, and the Premier of China, Li Qiang.

The trip should conclude as usual, with an official signing ceremony for the bilateral agreements, official photos, exchange of gifts, and a formal dinner.
