Bolsonaro wants to imitate Trump's offensive against social media.

247 - The government of Jair Bolsonaro is already considering taking a measure similar to that adopted by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, of hold social media platforms accountable who attempt to regulate the spread of fake news. 

According to Filipe Martins, special advisor to the Presidency of the Republic for international affairs, the act signed by Trump that reduces legal protections for technology companies such as Twitter, Google, and Facebook is an "executive measure against censorship on social media."

"The Brazilian government is studying this measure and will seek to implement, through appropriate channels, similar regulations to guarantee freedom on the internet," Martins wrote on Thursday night.

Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro also shared the news about Trump's action on his social media and wrote: "an inspiration for Brazil".
