From BBC Brazil/Agência Brasil Cuban blogger Yoani Sánchez announced on her Twitter account that she has received her passport, which will allow her to leave Cuba.
One of the leading voices of opposition to the regime currently led by Raúl Castro, Yoani benefited from the end of measures that prohibited the free movement of Cubans outside the country. The relaxation of these rules is part of the regime's opening measures.
Yoani had previously requested permission several times to participate in events abroad, including in Brazil. Each time, her requests were denied.
