Sputnik - Intelligence services in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) have detected armored vehicles belonging to Ukrainian security forces in a residential area of the Kyiv-controlled city of Schastie, near the conflict zone with Donbass.
The announcement was made this Tuesday (25) by a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence of the RPL.
"In the area of responsibility of the 79th Brigade (of the Ukrainian security forces), two infantry fighting vehicles were seen near a residential area of the village of Schastie," said the RPL representative.
According to information from the RPL military, Ukrainian forces are mobilizing throughout the country.
"In recent days, we have consistently detected military activity by the Ukrainian Army, not only in the area of punitive operations in Donbass, but also throughout Ukrainian territory," said a spokesperson for the organization during a press conference.
The conflict in Donbass began in 2014 when Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), which refused to recognize the new government in Kyiv.
In February 2015, the conflicting parties signed the Minsk peace accords to end the fighting in the region, but the situation remained tense, with both sides accusing each other of violating the ceasefire agreement.
More than 20 truces have already been agreed upon. Similar events have occurred in recent years, but this has not been enough to appease the situation.
