Biden announces death of ISIS leader: "successful operation"
A counterterrorism operation was carried out by the United States armed forces on Wednesday night.
By Tácio Lorran, Metrópoles - US President Joe Biden (Democrat) announced on Thursday morning (February 3) the death of the leader of the Islamic State (ISIS), Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi (pictured). The operation took place in Syria.
“Last night, under my direction, U.S. military forces in northwest Syria successfully conducted a counterterrorism operation to protect the American people and our allies and to make the world a safer place,” Biden said in a statement released by the White House.
