Russian military plane crashes into the Black Sea, killing all 92 people on board.

247, with Sputnik Brazil - On the morning of this Sunday (25), a Tu-154 aircraft from the Russian Ministry of Defense crashed into the Black Sea, 1,5 km from the coastal area, with 92 people on board (84 passengers and 8 crew members).

Wreckage from the plane was found 1,5 km off the coast of the Black Sea at a depth of 50-70 meters, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. According to a source in the security services, the plane crashed into the sea 7 minutes after takeoff.

Helicopters and planes are conducting searches in the Black Sea. The Ministry of Emergency Situations plans to increase the number of rescue ships from 6 to 9.

 

The plane was carrying a choir of about 60 members and journalists to a New Year's event in Syria. Also on board was the famous Russian doctor and philanthropist Elizaveta Glinka, known as "Doctor Liza".

"For now, 4 ships, 5 helicopters and several drones are in action at the accident site. We are increasing and intensifying the forces," said Russian Defense Ministry representative Igor Konashenkov. A group of investigating judges and criminal experts from the Russian Investigative Committee also departed for the site.
