Russian authorities will not participate in the Munich Security Conference.

Around 35 heads of state and government are participating in the Munich Security Conference.

TASS - Russian authorities will not participate in the Munich Security Conference, which will take place from February 18 to 20, for various reasons, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova at a press conference on Wednesday (9).

"As far as the Russian Foreign Ministry is aware, Russian officials, for various reasons, will not participate in the Munich Security Conference on security policy, which will take place from February 18 to 20 this year," she said.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not participate in the Munich Security Conference in person or via video link.

Approximately 35 heads of state and government will participate in the Munich Security Conference, scheduled for February 18-20. The US is expected to be represented by Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The German delegation will be headed by Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also plans to attend.
