Attack in Kenya leaves 69 dead and 63 missing.

The number of victims of the terrorist attack in Nairobi, Kenya, last Saturday (21), has reached 69; another 63 people are missing, according to information from the Red Cross. The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) estimate that there are still about ten people being held hostage inside the Westgate Mall shopping center.

Brasilia - The number of victims of the terrorist attack in Nairobi, Kenya, last Saturday (21), has reached 69. Another 63 people are missing, according to information from the Red Cross. The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) estimate that there are still about ten people being held hostage inside the Westgate Mall shopping center.

Over the past 24 hours, the country's security forces have made several attempts to enter the shopping center, but have been forced to withdraw. According to Kenyan authorities, Israeli and American military personnel are also participating in the operation.

The area near the commercial sector is isolated and occupied by security forces, but people are gathering at the site with the aim of helping the victims. It is estimated that around US$250 has already been raised. Early this morning (23), the KDF reported that the situation should be under control soon.

Among the victims are three British citizens, two French citizens, two Indian citizens, one South African citizen, one Chinese citizen, a Peruvian doctor who works for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World Bank, a Ghanaian citizen, and a nephew of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, as confirmed by the governments of each country.
