Argentina advocates for a greater Russian presence in South America.
Argentina's Deputy Foreign Minister, Daniel Raimondi, stated in an interview with Sputnik that the country wants Russia to play a leading role in international forums taking place in the region; "We are very interested in having an active and high-level participation from the Russian Federation," said the Argentine diplomat.

Argentina's Deputy Foreign Minister, Daniel Raimondi, stated in an interview with Sputnik that the country wants Russia to play a leading role in the international forums that will take place in the region.
"We are very interested in having an active and high-level participation from the Russian Federation," said the Argentine diplomat after receiving his Russian counterpart, Sergei Ryabkov, this Thursday (12).
It was also highlighted that the governments of Argentina and the Russian Federation will expand and extend, next year, the three-year Political Consultations Plan that was signed in 2016 and is due to expire in early 2018.
Furthermore, the deputy minister stated that Argentina expects Russia to make investments in various areas where the South American country needs financing.
